Ballah Deanna
Ballah, Deanna Grace 1944-2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend. Deanna passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, her two sons, three daughters, grandchildren, brother and three sisters. Dea lived a quiet life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Che and all the nurses and staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital palliative care unit for their wonderful care and compassion. At Deanna's request cremation will take place and a private family ceremony will be held.
Beverly Brunton
The family of Beverly Anita Brunton (Morningstar) is saddened to share the news of her passing on July 18, 2018. Bev cherished her family and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Henry George (Harry) and devoted children, Tracy, Kim, Brad (Paula) and Greg (Carol). Her grandchildren captured her heart, Gillian Gregory (Brandon Greenwood), Taylor Stuart, Michael Brunton and Jacob Brunton. The gift of a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Greenwood, brought joy to Bev's life. Bev's four legged companion, Sammy will need time to understand her absence. Bev will be remembered for her hospitable gestures, making anyone in her home feel welcome. She never overlooked an opportunity to extend herself through a lovely meal or a visit to her exceptional gardens. Bev's family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Doyle and the extraordinary ICU staff at Niagara Falls General Hospital with special thanks to Megan and Tony (Unit C) and Lauren (ICU). A private memorial service will take place in Fort Erie. As a registered nurse and former staff member, Bev would be pleased to know that The Douglas Memorial Hospital Urgent Care Centre will benefit from gifts made in her name. - Click on the donation tab under Bev's picture. Tina Salvatore
March 7 1971-July 15 2018 On July 15th 2018 Tina Salvatore age 47 passed away after a long brave battle with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) Tina's children ,Steven (Hailey) ,Jessica (Anthony), Brandon ( Breanna) were the pride and joy of her life. The Legacy of Tina's kind spirit, will live on through them. Tina and Chris had a loving and caring relationship, based on mutual support and deep love for each other. Cherished and loving daughter of Brenda, Russell, Jerry and Susan. Beloved sister to Tammy (Doug), Christy (Jay), Neville (Melanie) and Jennifer Loving Nona to her doodles Aidan, Jada, Nate, Kelsey, Christopher, Gerry, Prince, Joey, Marques, and Grayson. Fondly remembered and loved by many neices, nephews and all her loving supportive friends A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 4 to 11 p.m. at the Port Robinson Community Centre, 40 Cross St. Port Robinson.
Leonarda DiMora
DiMora : Leonarda "Mimi" Leonarda passed away at the Gilmore Lodge Fort Erie on July 12th, 2018. Born November 26, 1929 in Realmonte Sicily to the late Giuseppe and Nunzzitta . A loving wife, mother and Nona. She and her loving husband Stefano were married 70 years. Survived by her son Domenic (Patricia) and his family: grandchildren Steven (Tiffany), Karla (John) and Michael (Yasmine) and great grandchildren Dominika, Louciano, Fiona and Phoebe. Sadly missed by her daughter Ninfa (Guy) and her family: grandchildren, Frank (Alie), Steve (Sabrina) and Melissa (Oscar). Also survived by her extended family that includes many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her siblings. The family express their appreciation for the love and care provided to Leonarda "Mimi" and the ongoing care of her husband Stefano by the wonderful staff of Gilmore Lodge. The honour guard ceremony was a heartfelt touch to the family. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 15th from 4-8 pm. Parish prayers at 6:30. Funeral Services will take place in the Chapel on Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Gilmore Lodge would be appreciated.
Jorge Alfaro Alonzo
ALFARO ALONZO, Jorge - Passed away on July 9, 2018 at Douglas Memorial Hospital at the age of 76. Beloved husband to Elizabeth Alfaro. Devoted Father to Irene Alfaro (Pablo de Leon), Frinee Alfaro (Juan Carlo Maza), Ericka Alfaro (Oscar Osegueda) and Jorge Alfaro Jr. Loving grandfather to Jonatham Maza, Johann Maza, Jorge Maza, Paola de Leon, and Jose Pablo de Leon. Jorge always put his family first and was the greatest husband and father anyone could ask for. A man whom never lost Faith in God and himself, who was filled with hope and courage. He began a journey looking for a safe heaven for his family; and was very proud and thankful to call Canada home. He spent many enjoyable years working at Fleet Industries in Fort Erie. Benner Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13th, 2018 from 1-3pm with a service to follow in the Chapel at 3 o'clock. If desired, memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family. Jorge's family would like to thank especially, Dr. Scher and the loving staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital, and the Walker Family Cancer Centre in St. Catharines.
Richard Henthorn
HENTHORN, Richard George - Born on June 23rd 1947 and passed away on July 9th 2018 at Douglas Memorial Hospital. He was a proud Moto guzzi owner and will be missed by all his riding buddies. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Anna LaFranca
La Franca, Anna - We are extremely saddened and heartbroken at the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Anna on Saturday July 7, 2018 at the age of 82. She is now reunited with her dear husband Frank. Treasured mother of Eugene (Pam) and Isabel (Armand) Del Busso. Proud grandmother of Joseph (Kelly), Meaghan and Olivia. Preceded in death by her parents Antonino and Concetta and brother Salvatore Fiannaca. She is survived by her sister Maria (Alfonso) Zicari and brother Carmelo (Maria Angelica) Fiannaca. Anna was a very special, loving, giving and kind person as displayed by her involvement in various charitable organizations. Anna was a very respected and active member of the Church and Choir. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie have been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will take place from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday July 12th. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave., Fort Erie on July 13th at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum in Niagara Falls. In kindness, donations may be made to St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church.
Pasquale Ianniello
IANNIELLO, Pasquale - On Sunday July 8th, 2018, Pasquale peacefully passed away, with his family by his side, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife Carmela, his cherished children Frank and Ida (Donald) Ross, his adoring grandchildren Danielle and Nicole Ross. He is also survived by his sister Maria (the late Giovanni) Ianniello and his brother Elio (Nina) Ianniello as well as in laws, Antonia (Angelo) Menchella, Giuseppe (Enza) Menchella, Domenico (Pasqualina) Menchella, Augusto (Arcangela) Menchella and Maria (the late Giovanni) Menchella. Sadly missed by his large extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Ida Pasqualina Menchella and Francesco Ianniello, his sister Elvira (the late Gennaro Vellucci) Ianniello. Pasquale retired after a long career with CN Rail and was an active member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. He was immensely proud of his family and took great pride in the upkeep of his gardens. He was a kind man who was always ready to lend a helping hand. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 10th from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:30. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, July 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave., Fort Erie. Rite of Committal will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill.
